Hey y'all! I am so excited that it is finally November and it is the holiday season! I am so excited for Thanksgiving and going home to see my family and decorating for Christmas! I've been planning my Christmas decor for weeks because I have a vision for my first year decorating our own place. I can't wait. I'm dragging Joey to a bunch of stores for some Christmas decor shopping tonight! I'm trying so hard not to listen to Christmas music yet because I don't want to get sick of it but I have definitely been watching Hallmark Christmas movies since before Halloween. What can I say? I'm the Christmas Queen.
Now that I've told you what a Christmas freak I am, let's get into this week's post. I am so excited about this post because I finally decided to sign up for the Ipsy Glam Bag! I had been on the fence about it for so long because I just didn't know if it would be worth it but I am here to lay it all out for you guys! I'm going to talk about some hits and misses in the bag and what I think about the whole thing.
Overall, I love the whole concept. For those of you who don't know what Ipsy is, it's a company who sends out a monthly "glam bag". You pay $10/month and you tell them your preferences and skin tone and they send you beauty products in a little themed makeup bag each month. You never know what you're going to get which makes it so much fun because it's always a surprise! I love getting that bright metallic pink package in the mail every month! So far, the bag has always been on time and I have liked a lot of what I got. I've had the service for 2 months now so I've gotten 2 bags. You get 5 products and 2-3 of them are full size. Let me show you what I got in the October bag.
The bag itself for October was very Halloween themed. It was bright red and had a masquerade mask on the front which was super cute!

I loved almost everything in this month's bag. The olive oil mask was unusable. The hole for the product to come out of was blocked so I couldn't even get any out to use so that was a bummer. The second product I didn't love was the nail polish by Sundays. It was a really pretty color but it was so thin, it chipped the same day I applied it. It's a shame because it's the perfect color for fall. A deep burgundy red. The nail polish was a full size item too!
Now let's get to the other 3 products that I really liked!
Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation

I had never tried anything from Makeup Forever before so I was very excited to try this foundation. I was surprised how much I liked it because I tend to be a full coverage kind of girl and this foundation is very natural looking. I'd say it's medium coverage because I could still see blemishes through it. I loved how it wore though and the finish was so natural . You could barely tell I was wearing foundation. They also did a great job of matching my skin tone because it was the perfect match! I would definitely consider buying the full size!
Northern Lights Eyeshadow Single (Norrsken No3)

Oh my goodness is all I can say. I am in love with this shadow and the shade! I had never heard of the brand Nomad so I was interested to see what they had to offer. This shadow sample is everything I could have ever dreamed of. The shade is just a gorgeous magenta color and I love putting it all over the lid and blending the edges out with a soft matte taupe shade. I also like to layer a gold shadow on top and it just mixes to form the most beautiful eyeshadow cocktail :) I think their single shadows are a bit pricey at $12 but I would still buy it because the formula is buttery and smooth and the pigmentation is there!

This lipstick shade is everything! It is a deep berry red which is perfect for fall! I love these kinds of shades and they tend to make your teeth look whiter which is always a plus! This is a brand I had never heard of as well but that didn't make me any less excited! Oryza is a UK Brand and they are very small. They have a dewy skin balm as well as a small lipstick collection and are bringing out a lip gloss collection soon. They look more like lip toppers in my opinion but that's beside the point. I love the formula on this lipstick. It's smooth and full coverage and I am all about that! I think the $22.50 price tag is a little steep for such a small collection but I would definitely buy it when it ran out.
Overall, the whole Ipsy experience is great! I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who wants to try out all kinds of high end and drugstore products but don't want to waste money on full size versions if it ends up being a dud.
See y'all next week!
XO,
Gabby
