Mad for Plaid

Y'all, it is finally November and the holiday season is upon us! If there's anything that you absolutely need to know about me, it's that I am the Christmas queen. No doubt about it. I start watching Christmas movies at the end of the summer. I know...I'm a freak. There's just something about how lighthearted everything is during the holiday season. I've always been obsessed with Christmas and all the decorating and baking that comes with it. I controlled myself enough this year to wait until November 1st to start listening to Christmas music in the car so I'm pretty proud of myself :) Ever since, Michael Bublé, Pentatonix, and Straight No Chaser tunes have been filling my car;)
Today I'm talking about one of my favorite looks that includes plaid. To be honest, I'm not usually drawn to plaid. I don't normally gravitate toward it when I'm shopping. I do, however, love plaid when it includes neutral or cool tones. I love this blue plaid shirt. It is so incredibly comfortable! I got it at Old Navy last year on clearance! It's a boyfriend style shirt so it's a little baggier which is one of the things I love about it. I love to pair it with a vest. I know, I'm so basic. Haters gonna hate. My vest Is super comfy and I wear it a toooon in the fall and winter because it's also pretty warm even though it's rather thin. My vest is the same color as the main shade in the shirt but it still works because of the other colors that play a part in the plaid pattern.
I paired all of that with a pair of dark burgundy/brown pants. I love that the pants compliment that colors in the plaid. These pants are the most comfortable pants I own. They're sort of stretchy material that is super soft.
My absolute favorite part about this look is the shoes (of course). These shoes are the epitome of fall. I love the olive and brown tones as well as the cutout heel. The colors just tie the entire look together. You know I'm always game for any kind of heel and these heels are super chic! I also really like this look paired with the ankle boots in this post. This look would be great with any neutral bootie or ankle boot. I added a bright orange Tommy Hilfiger bag for a pop of color! This crossbody bag is perfect to hold essential items like sunglasses and makeup.
I don't normally talk about my makeup in posts but I just have to gush about my lip color. This is part of the NYX Slip Tease lip oil line. Y'all, this color is AMAAAAZING for fall. It's a brownish purple and I'm totally obsessed. Also the formula in these lip oils is bomb. I thought it would be really oily and shiny rather than matte because of the name but it's the complete opposite. The color just glides on and it's a really buttery matte instead of being drying like a lot of matte lip colors can be. The shade I'm wearing is called Entice and I am beyond obsessed with it. I actually have a nearly identical shade in the NYX Lip Lingerie line because I like it so much!
What are your favorite color combos for fall? I'd love to know!
XO
